Wang Shaowu is the Director of the chamber music and viola departments of the secondary school affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music. In 2002, Wang was awarded DAAD scholarship and then attended the Hochschule für Musik in Germany, where he studied under world famous violist Matthias Buchholz. Wang completed his Masters in 2004 and his Doctorate in 2006 with the highest performance diploma from the Hochschule für Musik Koln’s Konzartexamen “Music Master Class”. Wang was one of the key players of Beijing and the Central Music quartets, which provided him the opportunity to collaborate with many world famous quartet and string masters, including the Borodin Quartet, Kodaly Quartet, Rostropovich, Isaac Stern, Yo-Yo Ma, and the Amadeus Quartet. He returns to conduct viola masterclass with Conservatory students.
